EQUINE WATER TREADMILL

Help your horse reach it’s full potential

At Lowton Equine Rehabilitation, we are proud to offer the state-of-the-art FMBs Equine Water Treadmill as part of our comprehensive rehabilitation services. This innovative treatment provides a unique, low-impact exercise that promotes muscle strength, joint flexibility, and overall conditioning while minimising the risk of injury. Whether your horse is recovering from an injury, undergoing post-surgery rehabilitation, or simply in need of enhanced fitness training, the FMBs Water Treadmill can be a game-changer in their recovery journey.

How the FMBs Equine Water Treadmill Works

The FMBs Equine Water Treadmill is designed to allow horses to move naturally while the buoyancy of the water reduces the load on their joints and muscles. This creates a safe and supportive environment for rehabilitation and conditioning. By adjusting the water level and treadmill speed, we can customise each session to suit the individual needs of your horse, providing a targeted, effective workout. The water treadmill helps to:

  • Improve muscle strength and tone.

  • Enhance joint flexibility and mobility.

  • Promote balanced gait patterns.

  • Reduce strain on injured or recovering limbs.

HOW IT WORKS

Our approach

At Lowton Equine Rehabilitation, we take a personalised approach to every water treadmill session. Our experienced team evaluates each horse's condition, recovery stage, and fitness level to create a tailored treatment plan. During the sessions, your horse is carefully monitored to ensure they are comfortable and progressing positively. We gradually adjust the water depth and speed to match your horse’s recovery and fitness goals, promoting a steady path to peak performance.

Step 01

At your first introduction session: We introduce your horse to the treadmill without water and practise walking on and off the platform until they are completely comfortable

Step 02

We turn on the treadmill without water until again they are feeling confident.

Step 03

Slowly we add a very small amount of water.
